In 1971 г. German forwarding company Dachser developed replicable body with folding support legs,, while the former replaceable bodywork needed a crane or a special forklift to replace the bodywork. Such development enabled to dismount or take the whole replaceable bodywork off the truck without any additional tools. As the replaceable body unlike the ISO container, is a European production, its measures are adapted to euro pallets’ measures.
Up to date, the most common system is BDF. It is implemented in accordance with EN 284, applicable standards are recommended and précised by Federal association of German freight transport of long distances (BDF), at present The Federal Association of Freight Transport, Logistics and Disposal (BGL) e.V.
